ABOUT ME
Writer. Producer. Filmmaker. Creator.
Born and raised in New Jersey, I've wanted to be in entertainment for a number of years now. People will often ask me “why do you want to be in this industry?” Each and every time I point them to one specific moment in my life.
In February 2011, at the ripe old age of 14, I witnessed one of the greatest gifts a child could witness: the preparations of Saturday Night Live. Host Russell Brand and Andy Samberg were running through a sketch in which Andy acted foolishly in his underwear. At the same time, many crew members stood by, deliberating over the sketch and what did/did not work. My mind exploded. Something so silly, so inane, could be taken so seriously by so many people. This was where I wanted to be. This industry, where people express their creativity in more ways than there are acceptable filters on Snapchat (the answer is 3). My head and my heart were decided.

Fast forward to 2013 and my friend, Jessica, and her brother, Dean, and I start to collectively make videos for fun outside of high school. Our creativity brought us to several different places, whether it be a punk rock flea market or elementary school classes for children with autism and cognitive impairments. One of our projects, Looking for a Legend, regarding the mythical Jersey Devil, went on to win Best Documentary at the 2018 Jersey Devil Film Festival.
Following high school, I continued my pursuit of the entertainment industry at Emerson College. I took an array of classes that fell in line with entertainment and marketing, including studio television production, web analytics, and writing for television. Gaining well-rounded knowledge that involve creativity, math, and business, I wanted to have a strong awareness of the various components involved in the industry. While working towards my degree, I completed three internships. The first, Above Average, is a venture of Broadway Video creating online comedy videos and editorial content. The second is Capitol Agent Media, which focuses on music video production for artists such as Eminem and television networks like MTV. Both of these took place in New York, but the third brought me to a new location, Los Angeles, and the area of the industry that most excited me, television. When I received the offer for an internship at The Price Is Right, I felt astonished. Finally having the chance to directly work on TV made me think back to the 14-year-old in me who remembered the SNL rehearsal. One of the accomplishments I will cherish most was being able to have my own original ideas featured on national television. Writing showcases and seeing the themes and prizes come to fruition gave me a sense of pride in my work as well as increased motivation for my career post-college. Throughout all of these internships, I worked directly on set, handled administrative duties, and gave me the ability to highlight my creative abilities.

Graduating in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in media arts production, plus a minor in marketing communications, I looked for my next move, and felt there were immense opportunities. The entertainment world encompasses so many different businesses. Publicity, talent, legal, finance, creative. It’s a vast world but in reality it’s very close-knit. Finding a position at PMK•BNC, I gained new interests in public relations and live event production. Being a production assistant at the Samsung 837 space in New York’s Meatpacking District, I had the chance to work directly under several producers and VPs, creating events such as a Pusha T concert and the unveiling of new Samsung devices. Understanding how to take inventory of production materials, establishing talent green rooms and stages, and maintaining the Samsung and PMK•BNC brand brought new challenges and even greater rewards.

Following my time with PMK, I worked a few temporary positions within the industry to bolster my knowledge, talents, and adaptability. The first, as a receptionist with iHeartMedia, provided an opportunity to learn how to communicate with various personalities and keep an office running efficiently, especially when the office is a giant media company.

The second, with Strategy PR/Consulting, involved assisting famed film publicist Cynthia Swartz. My duties involved keeping tabs on her schedule and inbox, while also dialing in to conference calls. My time there brought significant knowledge in the world of public relations and how it effects a films success at the box office and at awards shows. The third temp position, as a receptionist and administrative assistant at Wolf Kasteler Public Relations, gave me a better understanding into the role of a publicist and how they are connected throughout the industry. Answering calls from A-list clients and ensuring their needs are met, creating press kits for publications, and compiling reviews for actors are just some of the tasks I took on. Being at Wolf Kasteler, I learned even more about the different components that go into crafting successfully film, television, and Broadway projects.
This brings us to today. Where to go next? That is what I am figuring out. I’m sure this page will be updated with new and energizing information in the future. Right now, it’s an open ending, waiting for the next phase to be written down.
